ONE TO ONE THERAPY with a PSYCHOLOGY AND YOGA COMBINATION
I am thrilled to be offering a new approach to well-being combining approaches from
evidenced-based Psychological Therapies, alongside physical exercises stemming from
Yoga.
I have drawn upon Psychological models that have a great evidence base (please see
website for more details of each Therapy approach I use), but also that intuitively feel helpful
for the individuals I have supported, and at times in my life, have been great for me too.
Elements of Yoga can be extremely beneficial in building better relationships with our minds
and bodies, and by slowing down and paying attention to our needs and values, develop a
stronger ‘wise mind’ to help us navigate what life brings and build resilience. It can energise
us but also be deeply relaxing and nourishing, so bringing our nervous system to its optimum state.
Having now run and ACT based yoga classes, Yoga/Psychology courses as well as offering
one-one Yoga and Psychology for individuals overcoming anxiety, depression, trauma,
coping with chronic pain and other difficulties - I feel this way of working with difficulties can
be extremely beneficial.
When: For one to one Yoga/Psychology Slots with use of the Studio:
Thursday 10.00am
Thursday 11.05am
Where: Chalk Stream Medical, Bowland House, Stiles Yard, West Street, Alresford, SO24

If this time or day doesn’t suit you, I can offer this combination in a smaller therapy room
within my usual clinic times in Alresford.
Is for you:
To decide if this therapy approach is suitable it is essential that we have a phone call to find out more about you and what you want to achieve beforehand. The following questions may resonate and indicate this could be a useful way to offer support and promote positive change.
Are you struggling with symptoms of Trauma?
There has been increasing research evidence in body focused interventions for Trauma focused work that help to overcome and process past trauma.
Are you harshly critical of yourself?
Yoga and Psychological Therapy can focus on building a compassionate part within, and recognise and find ways to overcome the barriers to developing this more helpful way of supporting yourself through the ups and downs of life.
Do you ‘know’ what you need, but struggle to put it into practice, falling back to unhelpful coping styles?
This approach will help teach new ways to cope that are not self-sabotaging and damaging and will help to keep you moving in the right direction. With more physical practice, it can become easier to start new positive habits.
Do you feel lost or find decisions hard?
This approach will help to build confidence in who you are, what you want and need and how to get there.
Have you tried various therapies that haven’t ‘hit the nail on the head’?
I will be drawing on ‘third wave’ empirically supported therapies which will include mindfulness and skills based methods as well developing insight through understanding the different ‘parts of ourselves’ and using a compassion focused approach. These can help develop greater understanding, a shift in mindset and behaviour to help become ‘unstuck’.
Do you struggle to regulate your emotions? Perhaps feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from them?
This mind-body approach could be beneficial in tuning into what you need to help settle your mood so you feel more able to function day-to-day.
Do you wear a ‘mask’? Do you think this impacts on your emotional and physical health?
At your pace, and in safe and confidential surroundings, you can leave your ‘mask’ at the door - this approach will help you feel less alone with what you are experiencing.
Do you experience physical symptoms that may be in part related to difficult experiences and ‘holding’ those feelings in your body?
Then this Psychology and Yoga method could be for you.
